All's well that ends well I suppose, after six months of medical treatment consisting of Neurology- cardiology- vascular-urologist and finally today optometry for eye test I can finally drive again without worrying about insurance company disallowing claim if I had an accident.
Since 16 Th January have been advised by hospital after being examined not to drive vehicle, I had blacked out sitting down using the computer, I can't remember a thing but being yelled at by Cathy when I came too, I relaxed for a couple of hours and started again what I was doing. I could see the floor move and became dizzy, immediate drove to doctor who then told me to go to hospital.
Had cardiograph --x ray of head -scans etc - all the usual tests- nothing they could pin point---made an appointment to see neurologist 3 weeks later. in meantime advised not to drive---YEAH!! that lasted 2 weeks before I snuck down to shops knowing I had no spells in that time.
Neurologist when I saw him said that he would order more tests, then went on to say it would be
quicker if could attend his surgery and he bulk billed the government which meant at no cost to me,
bulk billing means that doctor has agreed to accept payment that the government offers for sevices, mainly for pensioners and the unemployed who have an health care card,
When I saw him again he refereed me to a cardiologist who set me up with a harness that they attach to your chest , wear it for 2 days to check heart rhythm then return it , see doctor again for results—he not happy sees something and gets 2nd opinion, he then reattaches harness, wear 4 seven days this time, after that he says my heart is ok and clears me,
In the meantime as I have pins and needles in my feet and legs saw doctor who refereed me to vascular surgeon , had body and leg scans then told blood flow in legs party blocked but would be okay not to worry then said that I had 2 cysts in kidney—referred to urologist, another scan at clinic
then back to him and told I’m okay BEWDY 3 down and one to go.
Neurologist does test on brain consisting of headgear attached by wires to a machine finishing with a blaze of lights, then wait for results, alls well he says, previous scan showed partly blocked arteries but is about right for age, but if I have another blackout to come see him again.
Then to top it all off I got bowel blockage spent 3 days in hospital with that. Then annual driving examination for those over seventy, and a different form, my doctor at least overlooked the blackout as the report from neurology cleared that , but had to get eyes tested which I had this morning all is ok now at last, just have to hand form in and I can drive with a clear conscience
Now this escapeologist is finally looking to get away for a break when the weather improves
