Gettysburge

Have always liked reading books that tell about history, I don't know why but think it was the only subject that I was good at in secondary school.
U tube has a lot of history videos that I have watched and on Friday I found the video on Gettysburg nearly two and a half hours of good viewing. Cath and I watched it on Friday evening and at its collusion found out it had a part 2 , so promptly downloaded that for a Saturday night viewing .
It sure was a slaughter in the second part , worse than the first which ended in a bayonet charge.
The 2nd told about how if they won the confederate army would have had a clear run to Washington.
Terrible loss of life on both sides

I love history...it's always interesting to know others were here before us...what did they look like, who where they...that's the fascinating part for me!

My cousin teaches at Gettysburg College, and lives out in the country near there. It's a nice area of rolling farm land and orchards. The town itself and the battlefields are all preserved from development, so being there gives a person a real sense of how it might have looked back when.

Their tactics were something else in those days.... kind of like, line up and try not to get dead.
