Not insulted at all , bloody poms , we had to fight to become a nation in our own right in 1902, the queen is still recognised as our head of the commonwealth of Australia.

Thanks for thinking of us, Kevin. I meant to tell you that Mr. Troutbend had a black out episode at the bowling alley in Las Vegas. The did tests and never found anything except a chronic sinus infection that might have been the cause. I was here in Colorado at the time, and he'd left his cell phone in his bowling gear, so nobody called me about it. If the hospital insurance woman hadn't contacted me to ask a question, I might never have known he was in the hospital until the bills started coming in.

after all the tests etc , still don't know why the blackout happened, but boy oh boy they found a couple more things I didn't know about that was treated successfully

I am oblivious to holidays for lots of reasons but am pleased to be saluting the American flag.

This is my unfavorite holiday because it is so hot for the traditional out
of doors celebrations. I wish they would move it to October 4th when the
weather is nearly perfect. But you have to be thrilled that our little
rag tag army defeated the British forces with all their might. (I mean no
insult.)

Ed, our resident historian, says we didn't so much win, as the British lost because they were overextended. They were fighting in the West Indies and in India at the same time. Also, the French, furious because they had lost the war for Canada, helped us (bankrupting themselves in the process and leading to the French revolution). The French were the key to our success. All's well that ends well, methinks.
