I'd never heard of it, either, but it's a pretty genius idea, especially for people who disdain the crap on TV now. I have an ancient computer and am on dial up so I will have to live vicariously through you, instead.
Our government was going to try something like that on fast food but it was rejected for the same idea...taxing the poor.
You have my sympathy, Martin.
I can't believe I missed that interview. That's what I get for not watching daytime TV, I guess. I lovedMichael. Thanks for filling me in on what I missed...you're right...none of it matters now, anyway.
If you both enjoy the bar, then there is really no harm in it. I haven't had a date night in, um, I'd rather not think about that. But when I *did* go out for date nights, I used to enjoy craft and artisan fairs, movies, dinner that I didn't have to clean up, renting movies for at home movie nights, coffee dates, walks along the waterfront, ice cream...I have to stop now. This is making me feel more pathetic.
Hmm...I was just thinking that maybe he got them mixed up...but I guess I'm not helping matters by thinking of these things, eh?
"It pays to be diligent"...you got that right.
Good for you on all counts...hope you can take some time for yourself, maybe a hot bath, sometime soon-ish.
I will give it a try, especially since "Murder She Wrote" was mentioned. I *loved* that show!Maybe I could read this instead of my creepy/corny Christmas book.
Ooh...now I want to read that novel.I always learn so much here!
So does that mean you *do* think I'm an idiot?
I'm sure that it is a wonderful country...I've never heard a bad word from any of those boys nor my SIL...I think they just sort of came to Canada with a pre-conceived notion that we would somehow look down on them. Not sure why...they just always seemed like they had something to prove. Which always made me wonder why they took a year plus to travel through my great country.
I don't distinctly remember if Nick was any good...I just remember basking in the silence...well, relative silence. At least he was talking about something else!
OMG...I thought it was just me!
I lived with 3 Australians for a while but none of them fit your description of an Aussie at all. They pretty much never shut up about how great their country was, etc. but maybe that was because they were homesick or something and feeling like fish out of water. I slept with one just to get him to shut up for half an hour. I've always wondered what became of the three of them...
My SIL lived in Australia for several years and loved it. She's in BC now, saving to go back.
I find Americans pretty uptight a lot of the time. Defensive. It scares me when it's not making me .
This was a fantastic post...but now I'm nervous that when you read me you're thinking I'm an idiot. Good thing I don't really care...
I'm going to try that oven cleaning trick tonight. My oven is nothing short of disgusting because I almost never clean it.Sort of on my "life's too short" list.
Wow on the dead bowler! Must have made for an interesting league night.
Wow, indeed!
My Dad is a fan of that show. I don't get it on my crappy TV but I've watched it with him. He talked a lot about Captain Phil.
