I am worried about our Aussiegirl, who lives in Jakarta (Java) Indonesia, just a few miles across the straits from Sumatra. A huge and devastating earthquake occurred near Padang, Sumatra today, and I am sure the effects were felt in a strong way in western Java.

Has anyone been in contact with her? I sent her an email and have not received a response yet. She is probably asleep at this time anyway.

Re Roman Polanski... No matter what your opinion may be, Polanski broke many laws and is a felon. It doesn't matter what his victim says or feels. He broke laws.

This is a nation of laws, not opinions. The man must be extradited and punished for his several felonies.

Baseball is a sport of money. Six of the eight contending or assured post-season teams have the highest salaries in the sport. The Colorado Rockies have the lowest of the eight. I'm rooting for the Rockies to win!

My Indians fired the manager and the whole coaching staff. As if it was their fault. Well, they did get rid of some of the non-performing players and now have an almost entirely rookie team.

So, "wait until next year" are once again the buzz words.

How about next decade?

Baseball will never repair itself. It should not be exempt from the anti-trust laws that protect the owners who collude and have ruined the sport. The same is happening to Football.

They should have to operate under the same rules and laws that all businesses are required to follow.
