Friday Stuff ...

Rosie is my 8 year old female black cat. She came with us from southern CA in 2005 (four years ago yesterday!) along with Satchel and Rosie's sibling, our late beloved Bunjii.

Rosie is like all cats a creature of habits. She understands my routine of making and drinking coffee. Rosie knows the words "Coffee" and "Maow," the latter meaning "Milk."

Whenever coffee is ready or in the bottle, she harangues me with "Maow," and "Mooo." She wants her share.

Her "Coffee" is half 'n half. I have to set out a little bowl and barely cover the bottom with half 'n half for her.

So since I can't have dairy and I use fat free stuff, I swipe those little sealed packets of liquid half 'n half in bars and restaurants and put them in my fridge, just for her.

I am a cat criminal, I know, and some day my name will appear in the Tiffin Police Report:

"Jon Adams of West Perry Street, Tiffin, was arrested at T.J. Willie's on a complaint that he had engineered the theft of half 'n half packets from the counter. He could not afford to post bond or bail and remains incarcerated."

If this ever appears in the newspaper, would someone please come and give Rosie her "Coffee?"

..............

Noblesse oblige. Look it up. Google it. The country would be so much better off if people knew what it meant and stuck to it.

I am doing some laundry this morning so I must check off the web. If I don't do certain wash I must go "commando" for a day or two. Oh, the perils of bachelorhood. But I always meet strange people at the laundromat and they are fodder for my novels.

..............

On Oct. 6th I would have been celebrating my 30th anniversary with Aphrodite, the goddess of free love. I am so glad that I won't. I always hated looking through all those cards in the shop, and roses cost a bundle these days.

One year I really surprised her. She drank tons of Coors Light beer. So I had a cake made that had a rough representation of the Coors logo on top and surrounded the cake on a table with the number of Coors Light bottles that totaled her birthday year - 40. I had some Mylar balloons tied to a couple of the bottles. The beer was gone in five days and I never drank any.
