If you are a rock 'n roller you know Ronnie. He replaced Ozzie Osborne in the band Black Sabbath way back when Ozzie could still make music. He was better than Ozzie. He left BS to form the short-lived but incredibly good band DIO, and reformed BS later to go on tour. Everything he ever sang was top-drawer music, but you had to be a real rock 'n roller to hear it. Puke radio never spun his stuff. I lived in the LA basin and had four genuine rock radio stations that did, not just pop crap or rock interspersed with Celine Dion. Hair bands of the 80's owe a lot to him. He inspired them. He also is credited with popularizing the "horns." At all the concerts he tossed the hand horn sign. Some church people thought Ronnie was the devil incarnate.
I think he was the god of rock 'n roll. Like "A Rainbow in the Dark."

I will miss you, Dio. Rock on!
