Did you know that Vietnam is now the second biggest exporter of coffee by volume? Brazil is first. Columbia used to be second. In the Vietnam war years, there were absolutely zero coffee trees in Vietnam. The soil (volcanic in the mountains) is perfect. The temperatures and rain fall are similar to Sumatra, a rich coffee-grower, too.

Made one run around town once the ice melted to puddles. I stocked up on kitty litter and distilled water, which is the coffee water and cat water now. Then I came back home for the duration. The rain persisted all day and all night and is still here. We are soaked,but it will turn into snow once the temp. drops today or tonight. It is 48F right now.
