13 boxes are up here now. I am delaying the tree shopping until Odin stops this incessant rain. Better do it soon, though. The cats are staring at the tub and the tree stand.
Not many Americans are familiar with Herge or Tin Tin. In my far-off youth I had a pen pal in Europe who was a fan of Tin Tin and he sent me so many of the comics. I got hooked, too. I loved the dog. I saved them all (comics and two books) but they were destroyed when my parents' basement got flooded in Sandusky Ohio while I was in the army. I will go see the movie!
Ohio State doesn't deserve a bowl game either. The bowls have become simply one more way for the schools to raise cash.
We may have to eat the rich.
I watched three college football games yesterday. My hope was for Georgia to beat LSU. That would have thrown the BCS into a dizzy spin. Then, after Houston lost (WOW) the picture got muddier. Oklahoma was made to look like a Division 3 team by OSU. My personal picks for the title match? LSU vs Oklahoma State. But they (the BCS buffoons) will pick Alabama anyway, so it will just be a rematch.
Ex used to force me to make about ten huge roasting pans of what she called Party Mix for the Holidays (which means "HOLY DAYS - so why are some people complaining that we don't always call it Christmas?) I could probably do the recipe from memory now. It has pretzel sticks and curls, mixed nuts, Cheerios, a couple kind of Chex, heated cooking oil, Worchestershire sauce, seasoned salt, etc. We would pack metal tins of it for gifts.
The book is AWESOME.
Went to Staples. On a kiosk in the front aisle they sell Brookstone stuff. I saw a pillow that is actually a universal remote!
