Today did it.
I've been a Cleveland Indians fan since I was five years old. After today, I ain't.
They traded away a couple fan favorites this week, Ryan Garko went to the Giants for a bat boy and a ham sandwich. Now they gave away Cy Young winner and the fans' favorite pitcher, Cliff Lee and one of the best second year outfielders in the game, Ben Francisco, for a couple of has-beens. The Phillies got the best of that trade.
So I am done with Mark Shapiro, the GM of the Tribe who has brought all this on the fans and the club.
They should have traded him instead. Now I expect them to get rid of Kelly Shoppach, Lee's only catcher. That's OK, but I really don't care.
I'm looking seriously at the Motor City Kitties as maybe my team to root for. Or maybe the Tampa (Formerly "Devil...") Rays.
Whatever.
I have many Indians shirts for sale. World Series shirts from 95 and 97, and several 1998 All Star Game shirts. Also, hats, cps, autographed gloves and bats, balls, etc. If you are nice I may give them away.
My autographed Bob Feller photos, ball and program are NOT for sale! My Luke Easter, Mike Garcia and Satchel Paige autographs are locked away in my safe deposit and not for sale, either.
