Played Mohawk C.C.for the first time ever today as a guest of my friend, Doug Dunlap, a member.
I was nervous on the first two or three holes,l but it began to get better by about the sixth hole. On the back nine, a storyed nine designed in 1919 by Donald Ross, the famed Scot course designer, I started blowing 270 yard drives - straight as the crow flies. I don't use a driver. My tee shot on long holes is done with a 13-degree three wood, an Adams Tight Lies fairway metal. I tee off on grass and never use tees.
It was a real fun day, and we spent 3 hours in the members' lounge afterward doing the buffet and Scotch. OMG! What a time!
Doug sprang for the whole day. he even bought me a souvenir logo sweater and my obligatory logo golf ball!
I owe.
I am not aching or loaded. I came home and quaffed a pot of strong coffee, and now I am going to the Mex Restaurant to meet Mariah for two-dollar Margaritas. She's buying!
It can't get much better than this for this "old" kid.
I will be peeing all night but I love it!
