Backyard (I measure four places and averaged) = 18 inches
Front yard (I measured thrice and averaged) = 22 inches
The four inch discrepancy is due to the many trees that stand over the back yard. We already had about ten or eleven inches on the ground.
The plows have not scraped the front parking lane. All the neighbors moved their vehicles back to garages and off the alley so the city could scrape and plow, but the trucks ignore the eight-foot swath of deep snow out there. Someone will call the city about it. I never park in front.
The street is a two-lane one-way major thoroughfare that leads west. It is the main drive through town. Even with the many earlier plows it has a two-inch packed layer of snow.
I went out back and cleared around my car and out to the alley. I spent an hour there and shoveled about two tons of snow aside into great piles. I left the car covered. That's tomorrow's job.
We are due for another storm Friday, with flurries a possibility Thursday.

I don't mind being stuck here. It saves money, because I would spend something if I was able to drive anywhere. I have a list.
Coffee filters (#4 unbleached cones, Kroger brand)
Onion soup/dip mix (Store brand)
Doritos or round nacho chips
Hummus, spicy
Aspirin, 81mg
Viva Towels, big roll, half-pieces
Chicken breasts

Bunjii is getting weaker. Every morning he manages to leap onto the kitchen counter and table. I allow him to eat up there, away from Doobie. He stays under a baker's rack out there, so I have water and a dry food bowl under there for him. I also put some padding and old towels behind it for him. I give him lots of time and attention.

I hope you all weathered this storm. This makes our second major winter storm of the season. Some of you got the bad ice. I can't imagine how bad this one must have been south of here. Our region is equipped for these bad ones, but places where the sun shines more than here don't even buy road salt or have snow plows. Stay warm.

I am so lucky! Once again, and for the third year in a row, I have been notified that I won the giant IRISH LOTTERY PROMO cash prize of some ginormous amount of Euros. I think this year I will send them a really neat email letter I got, signed by the Director of the Nigerian National Treasury, which details how to deposit several millions in my bank account. All they have to do is send me THEIR f**king account number and routing number and I will guarantee it. Hmm?
I can't believe people still fall for these phishing scams but I read an article that last year over seventy million dollars was scammed out of people's bank accounts that way.
That's better money than a career on Wall Street!
