I suppose if I think this heat wave is bad, I should wait twenty years when the global temperature is a couple degrees centigrade higher than now.
But, alas, I probably won't be here to feel it.
The cats are lying on the floor all day. Right now Hobbie is flat out on the kitchen tiles near the refrigerator. I have the ceiling fan on High for him.
Satch is near me and I have the downstairs floor fan on the highest setting. He is flopped in front of it.
I have no idea where Rosie and Doobie are weathering this. Probably up in the studio windows where I have the other big fan sucking in fresh 85 degree cool air.
It never cooled down overnight. This morning at 6 a.m. the house temperature was 84. Now it is 88. Outside is slightly cooler now so I am going to put this fan in one of the windows.
I loaded the cats' water bowls with ice cubes.
I am on my sixth or seventh headband today. Yesterday I soaked five. I have a good supply of them, about forty.
I have consumed two large jugs of red grapefruit juice and a whole sun tea jug today. Looks like I will be up and down the staircase tonight, eh?
Tomorrow should begin the slight cool down. It is supposed to get down to the mid 80's. Then Wednesday it should be no higher than 82. Ah! Like winter!
The humidity belongs in Florida, not here. You could cut the air with a knife, and a dull one at that.
There were storms and rain today all around us but not a drop here. We are in the Northern Ohio "split" zone. Storm fronts break in two and pass us by. All except for the ones that come in winter, of course.
Laterz...
