Assisi in the center of attention in the art and architecture world right now. Structures and priceless artworks were severely damaged or destroyed in the recent earthquakes. Hundreds of restoration projects are underway, many of them being carried out by volunteers. The hill town is the site of the works of St. Francis and the place from which the Franciscans went out to minister to the world.
