I'm intrigued by the fact that on this most important of subjects (if indeed spirituality and religion touch on the eternal), that a mere opinion seems to suffice. Conceded the fact that abuses and excesses exist in ALL organized religions, is it a foregone conclusion then that NO organized religion can be based on truth? Is it logical to discard them all and begin the entirely whimsical process of picking and choosing what we "think" is right? Are we, as human beings, qualified to make that decision without any guidance whatsoever? If indeed creed matters, I want to get mine right. And truth, by the way, is knowable. To declare that it is not knowable is to assert just exactly the opposite.
This really is a very long and wide discussion just waiting to happen. Suffice it to say, if your opinion is just as good as mine, does it really matter if anyone has an opinion at all? Think about it! And thanks for stopping by!
