I've been doing a lot of reading lately. Blog reading. And by blog reading, I mean even the comments. Most of the time, I start to comment and then erase it all and just leave.
So, I'll post here what I've thought on more than one occasion:
- Not all Republicans are blathering idiots.
- Not all Christians are hateful, selfish hypocrites.
- The Republican party is NOT out to destroy America.
- Not all Republicans think that the Democratic party is out to do so either.
- Not all Republicans want to see Barak Hussein Obama fail. (I personally hope to goodness his policies help and not hurt our country, in spite of the fact that I wholeheartedly disassociate myself from the blind, cult-like following he has acquired{I wasn't sure if that sounded too much like some of the jabs I've tried hard to overlook lately}.)
- I am NOT a snot nosed brat who has lived off the "fat of the land" for too long. If there is any fat of the land, I helped contribute to it, as did millions of others in my generation.
- Furthermore, one's viewpoint or ideology does not in any way make them superior to others who disagree, no matter how many people agree with them.
- And lastly, like it or not, neither of the two major political parties has a great advantage over the other. You might say that scale hasn't been radically tipped for years. At any given time, one party has a slim majority over the other and they frequently trade places, as is evidenced by the fact that no party has ruled neither the White House nor the Legislature for too long at one time in recent decades.
So, I'm here to stay. I'm totally irritated by the snobbery of some, but frankly, I also find it entertaining. (Kinda reminds of the supposed Bush smirk for which he's been so harshly criticized.) I've even dreamed about meeting some of you in person. Don't worry, you were equally snobbish in my dreams. *wink*
There's more, but you're probably already drifting anyway. Better read fast, this one probably won't survive any editing.
