Fitness is Fun

My wife and I have mad a commitment to each other to be healthy in order to have more years together. Sweet, huh?

I'm actually enjoying our healthy lifestyle. She provides motivation to go to the gym when my own motivation is waning by changing into her clothes first and then asking me if I'm ready. Kinda hard to say no when she's already dressed and ready to go. I provide her motivation to eat healthier, especially in the evening when we're tempted to eat really unhealthy things late at night. My strengths complementing her weaknesses and vice versa.

So I've been running three miles like a mad man every other day and doing this super, incredible, high-intensity, major muscle boosting weight training program. LOL If you believe the weight training program part, I know a man with a socialistic health care program he's trying to sell. *snicker* My weight training consists of lifting a few weights to exercise all the major muscle groups without spending more than half an hour at it. Besides the fact that I feel like a total dork lifting weights (even when I'm the only one in the gym), I've never stayed with it for very long down through the years. It's not a priority, although I do fantasize about having buy sport cut suits to accommodate my rippling biceps and bulging pectorals. LOL

My wife does the treadmill and stationary bike. I think she lifted a couple of pounds five or six times today while I did my squats (that sounds gross!). LOL

The pounds are slowly dropping off and soon I should be able to see my toes. *jk* I stole a trick from Teal and got me a little block of paper and pencil by the scale. I weigh daily to give myself an added incentive to make choices throughout the day to shave the pounds. It's working. Thanks, Teal.

This gym we go to only costs $20/mo. for both of us together. Not bad, huh? Not exaclty great either. There's a limited amount of equipment, but certainly enough for us to meet our goal of being fit and healthy. Don't look for me on the cover of Workout Weekly Magazine any time soon. LOL
