I just hope they keep her around for the next couple elections. Hee.
Death in the army
The Captain called the Sergeant in. "Sarge, I just got a telegram that Private Jones' mother died yesterday. Better go tell him and send him in to see me."
So the Sergeant calls for his morning formation and lines up all the troops. "Listen up, men," says the Sergeant. "Johnson, report to the mess hall for KP. Smith, report to Personnel to sign some papers. The rest of you men report to the Motor Pool for maintenance. Oh by the way, Jones, your mother died, report to the commander."
Later that day the Captain called the Sergeant into his office. "Hey, Sarge, that was a pretty cold way to inform Jones his mother died. Couldn't you be a bit more tactful, next time?"
"Yes, sir," answered the Sarge.
A few months later, the Captain called the Sergeant in again with, "Sarge, I just got a telegram that Private McGrath's mother died. You'd better go tell him and send him in to see me. This time be more tactful."
So the Sergeant calls for his morning formation. "Ok, men, fall in and listen up. Everybody with a mother, take two steps forward. NOT SO FAST, McGRATH!"
MiNe? All miNe?
I called my state Senators and suggested they consider reinstating the interest deduction on auto loans for a year (2009 tax year.) We'll see if that comes up for discussion? Detroit doesn't give a crap about the whole mess we're in - only their own troubles - or they would have designed and produced more low-mileage, lower cost cars a decade ago. I hope Bush vetoes any giveaway to Detroit. It will cause massive economic problems but we already have them anyway. "Change" is here already.
You have my support. Christianity has no right to establish our laws, Federal or State. The Supreme Court will overturn Prop. 8 eventually. This issue has no moral grounds. Only legal grounds can be considered when establishing laws and precedent. What fools these mortals be.
Sumtimes DaDDy say his pockets are empty from moneys but full of them sorrowz.
They need you fer dekoratin their Chrismuss tree? Make shur they voted fer ya before ya go.
My mom (90 years) and I haven't been invited to any of the extended family's Thanksgiving dinners as of today. For the past couple years a cousin called early in November and invited us. I usually bake a pie or something to contribute. Now I'm wondering, should I call them, or should I "wing it" and go on waiting? If we don't get the invite from them, one of Mom's younger brother's wives usually calls a few days before the holiday with their invitation. If none do it, I'll have to take her to a restaurant that day. Hmmm? What would you do? (I realize you are not Emily Post, but...)
Thanks, Hobbie!
I dont have none. Hee.
On the San Diego Fwy I have seen men shaving (electric razors), men and women driving and reading paperbacks simultaneously, a couple kissing furiously during morning rush hour in stop-and-go traffic, a guy changing shirts while at the wheel, and a guy in a convertible getting a BJ right next to my car.
