Another Metamorphosis

Home & Garden > Wolfie . . .

Wolfie . . .

 . . . My most loyal, friend.

October 1997 - 30th July 2010

There's something missing in my home,

I feel it day and night,

I know it will take time and strength

before things feel quite right.

But just for now, I need to mourn,

My heart -- it needs to mend.

Though some may say, "It's just a dog,"

I know I've lost a friend.

You've brought such laughter to my home,

and richness to my days.

A constant friend through joy or loss

with gentle, loving ways.

Companion, friend, and confidante,

A friend I won't forget.

You'll live forever in my heart,

My sweet, forever pet.

R.I.P.
X

He is at peace now and without any pain, that is the main thing. I miss him like anything though. Thank you for your kind words

Thank you both for your kind thoughts We are coming to terms, slowly. It is Chloe, our Rottie who is missing him a lot. Fortunately, she is eating, but she seems so mopey. We have bought her some new toys (she has sort of, played with them), but she has lost the 'excitement' (for want of a better word) of her first venture into the back garden in the mornings - she would encourage Wolfie out for a play in the mornings (his back legs would play up with him, which increased a lot last week, hence our trip to the vet last Friday. He couldn't move and we did not him suffering).
We had the vet do a private cremation and we will be picking his ashes and plaque in about a week.
I know, he is looking for a nice place to take me for a walk, when I get there and meet him again.

I heard, from boff yesterday. :(( I'm soo sorry mom! Wolfie was unique, yet in his singularity he was living amongst many hearts he touched - he will be sooo missed. There has only ever been 'Wolfie'.

Thanx Lynn. I have spoken to you recently, so you know how we are. You are so right though - Wolfie loved so many of you - remember when he fed Emily with his dog biscuits 'cos she was crying? He was a unique dog as you said and I know, he is still here with us - I bet he pops into see you all as well

I (we) are coming to terms of life here without him. It was (is) very, hard to enter and leave rooms and the garden and not have him taking the time to enquire 'what I am doing' in his own particular way. It's odd, to say the least.
Thank you for your hugs
