Anthony Horowitz to Pen Sherlock Holmes

Seriously successful author Anthony Horowitz is taking on one of literature's most famous characters...

Yes, he's going to put pen to paper to recreate Sherlock Holmes!

The fictional detective was the creation of Arthur Conan Doyle, in the late 1800s, who wrote four novels and 56 short stories about Holmes.

Horowitz said: "My aim is to produce a first-rate mystery for a modern audience while remaining absolutely true to the spirit of the original."
Just found this out on the news! The above article was on a BBC website which they posted 11 hours ago.
I for one, am looking forward to reading the new novel - YaY! for Sherlock (and Sir Arthur C. D.) being awoken from his slumber!!!

I like the fact that this author, is going to write in the same style as Conan Doyle - if the book is, a hit (I am sure it will be) - we may be able to look forward to a few more novels . . .

I noticed that. They are making a Sherlock Holmes 2 with Robert Downey.
Would rather read the book. The first movie was boring and too long.
Even though that it was a box office hit,for me it was not.
Glad to hear this.I would rather be reading.

This film was on tv last weekend, we watched it and thoroughly enjoyed - I like Robert Downey acting, he is a very capable actor.
I am looking forward to the sequel of it I do believe, that the author of the new, Sherlock Holmes is hoping to have it on the bookshelves quite shortly - looking forward to that

It was a wonderful surprise to hear this! I thoroughly enjoy the character - I suppose it was 'elementary my dear Marg', that eventually 'someone' would resurrect him
