I have found that when someone has done many different things over the years and has acquired many different skills and talents that sometimes it is difficult to find a focus area and then stick with that focus area.

Recently, I have taken the time and done a reflection on what I have done professionally. Also, I have carefully examined my areas of strengths and areas of weaknesses.

With this task completed, I am now focusing on using my strengths, i.e.my specialized skill in Education and more specifically in helping both students with and parents of Special Needs students obtaining the best level of Education they are required to receive based on the Special Education Rules, Laws and the student's own Individualized Education Plan. As such, I have decided to focus my abilities and talents in working as both an Educational Consultant/Advocate and Mediator for Parents and Students who need assistance in the Area of Special Education Rules, Procedures and Regulations. With additional training I recently completed in Mediation/Negotiation, I am now focusing myself and my work in this area only.

I encourage everyone who reads this to also reflect on your skills, talents, strengths and weaknesses, and then focus on using their strengths to create work situations that give meaning and purpose to your life.
