How thoughtful of Fredo to surprise you with a gift.He really is a very special kind-hearted person.I wish there were more people like him around. Yes,the little ones are one of the best things about the holidays...I'm glad you had a Very Merry Christmas.Laurie
Fredo,I finally got approved for a financially assisted program in my county called the Star program. It serves the unemployed, poor and homeless. They make you wait weeks between appointments.I have had several ultrasound's,x-rays,urine cultures, and have more scheduled. My biggest problem is I still have a urinary tract infection that is not being treated.I have to go to the ER and sit for hours for an antibiotic. The urologist said he will blast the stone and put a stent in but only after all the tests are done. They won't even answer the phone at the clinic so I can address my concerns. My next appointment is Jan. 12th 2009.I still hurt and have a hard time keeping food down at certain times. If I have something like cancer that is causing my problem it will take weeks or actually months before I receive any treatment and that's if I'm still alive. Now all the doctors are leaving Florida,so we will soon have a shortage of doctors in our state.Even the insured will have trouble getting in to see a doctor.Laurie
You are so LUCKY to be able to take your Mother out and enjoy her.I am crying because my Mother can't walk or eat.She lives in a hospital bed in the living room of her house. The Alzheimer's started 16 years ago and has progressed to this. She has 24/7 care from either me or my sister. Her food comes in cans that we pour in her PEG (stomach tube)to keep her alive. She has some 'moments' where we can have a actual conversation with her. It's been a year that she has been home from the HORRIBLE nursing home.My Dad wants her at home,so we honor his wishes.I did report the nursing home and they were fined and got in some legal trouble. You are a GREAT son and I think you're the greatest. Laurie
