On August 19th we had a major fire that cost three people their lives, JJ, Clhoe and Bill (WILLIAM). Clhoe was pulled out of the fire and sent to Vancouver General Hospital but later the next morning succumbed to his injuries. He received massive burns that his body just could not fight.

JJ and Bill were found Saturday morning; they had been heading out of the building but were overtaken by flames. JJ's Loonie (our version of a dollar bill) jar was found in tact. The cause of the fire was a clothes dryer that somebody had turned on just prior to the Bus going up in flames.

The Bus has been around since 1920, it has truly been a sad week for our city. Even sadder for my best friend Deb who not only worked there and called these people her second family, but who also lost three friends in the carnage.
