So it is Monday again. Although the sun is out, the snow is melting, and it appears to be warm, it is really only warming up slightly. We were blessed to have wind, rain, sleet, and finally snow this weekend here in the Thumb. You know what they say about Michigan. Oh, you don't? Wait five minutes, and the weather will change! We only got enough to barely cover the ground, so no complaints here.
It was chilly last night, cold enough obviously to snow, yet I could still hear the frogs singing in the wetlands behind the house. We moved the computers to the back room with the cat door, so there is plenty of activity here, sort of like Grand Central Station, feline style. Not to mention that either or both of the dogs like to happen by and nose around.
We have plenty of cats, and upped that number five more last Wednesday when Jezebel finally gave birth. I forgot to include that in my Wednesday post, being the goofy blonde that I sometimes am. I will have to take pictures and post. The little buggers are cute, but there is a big mouth in the group with lungs the size of Texas.
In a big switch, I am home with daughter's uncle and daughter's aunt is on her third day at a new job. He has the flu and I am praying to the flying spaghetti monster as well as God that I don't get it. I have better things to do with my time than spend it on the throne like he has for the past few hours.
Daughter got off to school today fine. We roughed it...lol...and walked up to the road instead of sitting in the warm car. It wasn't so bad, it wasn't too cold. She has four days and then Spring Break. She goes back the day after Easter, Easter Monday. My daughter keeps asking me if we celebrate that day because it is on the calendar and I told her no, that was other countries. I think she wouldn't mind having another day off to boot.
I am excited about my interview tomorrow and will be preparing for that today. Any tips you want to share would be greatly appreciated. I am planning to go in there confident and smiling. It's the first one I have done in a long time.
I am also psyched as I am down about fifteen pounds from my highest non-pregnancy weight. I have been watching what I eat, substituting lower fat and fat free foods and eating healthier. More like eating more consciously, I guess would be a good way to put it. In addition to looking better with less weight, I want to be as healthy as I can in the last half of my life. Too much bad family history to contend with and I am arming myself now, before some doctor tells me to!
I haven't been around as much as I have been off living life. Something I didn't do so much of last year. I live closer to my friends, so we see each other more. Of course my daughter's aunt; we live together! I have been dating someone new and that is a nice addition too. Looking for jobs and applying keeps me busy, and darn it, I got to start putting stuff on eBay again! I do need the money, and I really need to pare down my worldly pile of possessions.
My daughter went with her dad for the weekend and that visit went well. She hadn't seen him in over a month and he appears to be doing well. I seen him on Friday and he has lost a little bit of weight and was in good spirits. I even hugged him as I want him to know it is so important to stick around for a long time for our daughter.
I know what it is like to go through that valley where the man (actually men) in your life are gone. My son has done just that, and I know that it has affected his life greatly. He graduates this year and I so wish his dad and grandpa could have lived to see it.
Yes, I am in a good mood and do finally feel rested, despite some broken sleep last night. Coffee does the trick for me! I have been burning the candle at both ends and sometimes have to recharge...lol.
So it's Monday again. It could all go to he** or the week could turn out good. I'm all for the latter. Happy Monday to ya!
