The sun was out, it was breezy, and warm enough today to enjoy the outdoors. I think it was probably the last day like this for several months.

Our daytime temperatures are supposed to go from above normal sixties and seventies to the forties, and it will be rainy with a possibility of sleet mixed in.

Don't you just love the weather? It is one of those subjects that you would find hard to offend anyone when talking about it.

This is Michigan, of course, and we are no stranger to cold weather and snow. Our time for conditions that the Plains experienced this week is coming.

The one thing about the cold weather is that you get to dress in layers and that is kind of comforting, in a way. Considering that there is skin under all that but you wonder if it is still there anyway, because it seems you haven't really seen it in awhile.

Yesterday daughter and I went out to my horsey friend's home for some horse therapy and enjoyed a very good visit. My daughter fed the piggy horses carrots, and we walked among them. She enjoyed talking to her favorite, Wyatt. I noticed the horses were getting their thick winter coats already.

My friend had brush hogged the grass so there were paths around the perimeter of the property. The three of us and Zeus and Hanky (two of my friend's four dogs) took a walk and the horses did their best to follow us on the other side of the fence. We seen a couple deer bounding through a neighboring field and enjoyed the mild temps.

Sometimes you need those brief getaways. And it was nice to have a rerun of yesterday's weather today to remind us of how blessed we have been with mild weather as of late.
