Granted, it happened in 1957,
but it is another example of how John McCain’s experience towers over that of
his Democratic rivals, demonstrating an ability to develop close bilateral
relationships abroad. We never hear about Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton
having this type of experience south of the border, though the American
