Hyundai Qarmaq Good Karma

Building eco-friendly models is at the top of most car makers' hit lists these days. But Hyundai is working on combining fuel saving with technology to help reduce injuries to pedestrians in collisions. The theory behind
the QarmaQ, a sporty 4x4 it describes as a "crossover utility vehicle", is to reduce fuel consumption by saving weight. It uses recycled plastic for the body panels and polycarbonate instead of glass, and tips the scales at 1,700kg, some 100kg lighter
than the similarly sized Santa Fe. This means the 2.0-litre diesel engine is more than adequate. While the QarmaQ's looks might be too futuristic for Hyundai in the short term, it's planning to incorporate its technologies into production models from next year.
