Smoke

In the northwest suburbs of Chicago, we are smelling smoke and seeing haze from a forest fire in Ely, MN, 500 miles away. This doesn't smell like a campfire or a brush pile. It smells like trash burning. I can't imagine what it is like to be there or in TX with their terrible fires. Are you affected by this smoke where you are?

We have had enormous fires and the smoke chokes us all up but rain is
predicted.

I hope you get rain soon and that the east coast gets a chance to dry out.

Because of the drought we also have 'forest' fires but not as bad as they have been--they occur out by the Everglades and the smoke envelopes Miami, Fort Lauderdale, etc.

There has been a fire burning in the Great Dismal Swamp for weeks. That is way north of you in VA or NC. Even with the rain from Irene, it is still smoldering.

No but if it doesn't rain here PDQ, we'll be having some fires of our own.

There are weather related issues all over the country now. I hope you get some rain soon.
