Life & Events > Now What?

Now What?

We've all had times when events have made us say, "that's the end of an era" or "that's the end of a chapter" in our lives.
Just like steps in a recovery program, this pivotal experience of "realization" can be the beginning of changes that will effect the rest of our lives.
It can be the loss of a friend or loved one, marriage or divorce, recovery from an illness, change of a job or residence and so on.
All of these things can and do, have an effect on how we try to pick up from where we left off and how and where we go from there.
After the fog lifts and reality bites our backsides, we see things through different eyes and with different perspectives and perhaps our priorities and life goals have been altered.
Sometimes doubt, emptiness and all out fear are our first inclinations because of these changes.
In my own experience, I've come to the conclusion that the only "constant" in life is "change" and depending on our attitude, it can be a good thing.
Many people it seems, have fallen into a comfortable rut (myself included).
That's when the tendrils of depression can wrap themselves around your mind.
The feeling like that of a hamster on his treadmill comes to mind - same old, same old.
However, with life's changes, challenges or the lack of, attitude plays a big part.
When life doles out scary changes or when you feel like you're going nowhere fast - stop, breathe and regroup.
Now what?
Whether it's a life altering experience or boredom, we have the options and tools to deal with it.
We should accept each situation as a challenge and opportunity to turn the page and begin a fresh new chapter in our lives.
I imagine, on those dark, bleak mornings when I feel so wretched, the actual turning of a page in my mind.
There!
The page is fresh and new and is waiting for me to start making new history! - a new chapter! - whatever I want!
The possibilities are endless and I aim to prove it!
Are you with me?

I’m with yer Lady!

Quite often I sit and think all this [whatever it is at the time] will be just a memory/lesson/laugh tomorrow.

Well stated, thanks for this .....great pictures.

Turning pages in our 'course book' LIFE the Lessons...challenges the test.
Did we pass onto the next level?

Nurture the moment — and its fresh page. Love all it offers. It is a friend bearing gifts galore.
