Once upon a time, in a land not too far away – actually, just out in my backyard – lived a gnome named Toby.
He’s the new garden gnome on the block.
Toby is living here now peacefully, rake in hand, after working dilligently for many years, all over the world for Travelocity.
Trapsing all over gawds green earth most of his life, was he.
For travelling patrons and their saftey he would check out electrical sockets that sent him careening across the room with high voltage jolts, was shot into ceilings by exploding luggage on many occasions and recently, survived a death defying fall from the diving cliffs in Acapulco – taking out several local species of wildlife on his way down. Very embarrassing.
No more globe trotting or pointed hats for him!
No sir!
Retirement is looking pretty good at this punctual juncture in his life.
So now, here he sits in my garden, trying hard not to look too obvious as he swats mosquitoes and black flies amongst a sea of blue. . . . .
And as I gently placed him out in the garden he looked up at me, his eyes limpid pools, he said, “Am I going to die?†and I gently replied, “Don’t be redonkulous!!â€
The End
