Back to Burning . . . (Oh Well)

Yeah right.
This time last week it was surrealistically (not sure if that's even a word) warm, gentle breezes, birds chirping, crocuses blooming and all that good stuff.
Come the weekend, the temperatures have plummeted, it's really damp so guess what? Yup, back to burning the old wood again. Fire up the woodstove!
I really shouldn't complain but be thankful that we have heaps of wood left to burn. Not sure about the kindling situation but that can easily be had if we run out.
Kind of kicking my own butt for not getting some yardwork done last week but jeepers, it's only March after all!
Instead, I washed 5 rooms worth of windows, venetian blinds and drapery and that makes me feel like I've accomplished something lately.
Today the sun is shining brightly, but it's windy and chilly.
Couldn't pass up the chance to wash up some blankets and bed linen and hang them out to dry.
I have to say that seeing clothes etc., blowing on the line is one of my favourite things.
Anyway, enough blathering for now.
I'm going for a walk. It's too windy to hear the birds so I think I'll take my Ipod and listen to some tunes as I go.
Party on xxx

There is something about spring that makes me want to clean house - I think it has to do with being able to open the windows and doors and shake the dust mop outside. I always wondered why someone would want one of those silly little balconies off their master bedroom (too small to sit on), then decided it was so they could go out there and shake out the bedspread.

I, too, fired up the wood burner last night. Felt cozy as I read a "western" novel and watched Antique Roadshow. Our 1.5" weekend rain really "greened" things up. Gotta mow soon. By the way, my almond tree WAS beautiful in bloom. It's in the peach family, didja know?

You mean to tell me that the almond tree has already blossomed? Wow! And, no, I didn't know it was in the peach family - ya learn somethin' new everyday it seems. I can just envision you on your lawn tractor mowing the grass . . .

I usually hit the treadmill when the wind is blowing a gale. However, our
weather is beautiful. Most days it is about 80 and walking outside is a
real pleasure.
