Hi again:
Well, we survived the raging storm named Faye.
She was in essence, a pussycat compared to the 2004 onslaught of three hurricanes.
Lots of wind and much needed rain came our way.
Unfortuantely others didn't fare too well perhaps trailer and prefabricated homes should be avoided as an option for home living.
It would be nice if the lawmakers regulated how this tin cans are built.
Moving on....
Ordered an interesting book from the library.
Windover: Multidisciplinary Investigations of an Early Archaic Florida Cemetary.
The book explores a dig that yielded many burials in a peat bed that is located a few miles from Titusville, Florida.
I have a special interest in this book because many of the human assemblages found had preserved brain tissue from which DNA had been extracted.
It took the people 20 years to sift through all they had found.
In any case, from the preliminary stuff I have read there is a strong possibility that the genetic sequences
found in that brain tissue have a close relationship to South American Indians. This means that my speculation about a reverse immigration up from the south might be confirmed.
The old theory places the immigration pattern of Amerinds in the Bering Strait. That one never sounded right as far as the Taino people are concerned.
The mtDNA trail of Haplo Group C is strongest as if the people had traveled up from the southern regions below Brazil, etc.
I will prepare a little report after I have read the book.
It will be interesting to see if any of those ancient sequences match mine.
Ayes
That DNA..book etc. keep me posted, interesting.
