I used to ride quite a bit, and one of my favorite horses in the barn where I rode was a calm sweet Morgan. He was owned by a lady, an expert horsewoman, who just loved to ride, and they would ride along the farm fields and woodsy paths for hours on end. I loved to bring him carrots and apples.

I like paint horses a lot, they have such comical faces, and when you look at them you can see the Indians chasing across the Great Plains on paints looking for buffalo.

My ex-husband worked in the coal mines, the colliery he woked in used ponies to pull up the drams of coal. There was a piebald amongst them, his name was 'Bob' if memory serves me correctly. During the miners holidays, Bob came to stay with us for the fortnight - I remember giving him a bath - that was hilarious - I ended up absolutely soaking (I completed my task though)

Children (and adults alike), can benefit from the relationship between horse and rider and this breed of horse sounds like a marvelous type to encourage this affinity
