And a Merry Christmas to you Lisa and your family. I'm glad the ex came through with some Christmas money.
I miss my parents. I'd just like to sit down and have a conversation about life in general. I think I would talk to Dad about what I have learned in researching his family genealogy. And Mom... well, I'd introduce her to the internet. She would love blogging. She died in 1977 and no one knew about blogging back then.
Great post. We need to remember those who defend our freedoms.
2009 is looking good to me. After two back surgeries in 2008, I'm ready to get on with an upgraded life, too.
Glad you got that off your chest. The best line of this post is.... "You ever notice that some of our fellow humans are just a waste of good DNA?" I was just thinking the same thing earlier today.
Thanks for the Christmas wish. What beautiful words and I love the sparkling snow in the picture.
Congrats to your niece. Graduating from college is definitely a big milestone in one's life. I certainly understand about graduation ceremonies. They always seem waaaay too long for me. Mine was outside in hot California weather of 103 degrees. Most of us graduates removed our black gowns and sat there in our regular clothes. A few more minutes in that black gown and I would have expired from the heat!!!!! The best part of graduating is marching in with one's tassels, hearing one's name called and posing for pictures with one's diploma!!!!
Ohhhhh..... I love Japanese food. Don't have any such food in Klamath Falls. And good crab cakes.... to die for.
Wow... you got a lot of comments on your New Year's Resolution. I think I've been guilty of unkind remarks at times or of trying to be humorous at someone else's expense. Guess I, too, need to remember that Sunday School song I once learned.... "be careful little mouth what you say."
Interesting. I didn't know this about beets for de-icing. I'll have to ask JR. He knows about these things.
Interesting blog Randy. I enjoyed reading about a day in your life. I like the "Bishop's Wife," too. The newer version with Whitney Houston and Denzel Washington is "The Preacher's Wife." Both are always enjoyable.
I waited too late to do genealogy, too. My Mom was a walking encyclopedia of family history and family stories. She passed on when I was 29 years old. For the last few years, I've been telling myself I need to visit with my Dad's older sister to learn more about his side of the family. Well, she died this year at the age of 96. Guess I missed that opportunity, too.
I have done research online and found lots of distant relatives. They have helped me with pictures and with information. I've gone back about 8 or 9 generations on my Dad's side of the family. My Grandmother on my Dad's side was a Huntsman (Jon Huntsman very distant cousin) and with them being Mormon, the search has been easy. Maybe I told you this already. I remember telling someone.
Again... I enjoyed your post. Annie :o)
You are always in my prayers.
I, too, believe in angels.
Beautiful. Our hearts go out to Deb and her family.
Great song, Hobbie. I can't wait until Christmas, either.
