Frustrated

I recently moved...well, about a month ago...and I have really been dragging my feet about getting a new job. Right now, me and my fiance are staying with my mom in this HUGE 4+ bedroom house..so I haven't REALLY needed a job yet, but I am starting to go stir crazy!

The reason why I'm so frustrated is because of the fact that for the past 10 years, I have been doing the same damn thing...and now that I want to change my career path..it is SO damn hard to get someone to hire you, with no experience! Well...how in the hell are you supposed to get experience, when no one will hire you??? It's a VERY vicious circle if you ask me...any suggestions??

Quite the chicken and the egg, huh? Maybe determine what your transferable skills are... like what skills do you have at your current job that could be applied to your dream job, and then just spin your resume to reflect it. Or if that won't work, you could use this free time to start doing some volunteer work in a similar field, or work as an intern somewhere?

1 way is 2 sign up w/a temp agency. If U can get even 6 mos under your belt in UR new career path, that's a practical start.

Whatever you pick it should be something you enjoy, so it doesn't drive you more nuts than the sitting at home..

I do understand your frustration. I think it is and has been an employer's job market instead of an employee's job market for a lonnnnnng time now. I don't know what to suggest. Is there anyway you can take some college courses for the field you want to get into? Keeping you in my thoughts.
