On a lighter note, the Minister Mentor touched on what he calls assortative mating, that is, finding a spouse at your level - something he strongly believes in.
He said: "I have explained this. I think I lost votes after I explained the awful truth. Nobody believed it, but slowly it dawned on them, especially the graduates, that yes, you marry a non-graduate, then you worry about whether or not your son or daughter is going to make it to the university.

The Mystery Of Marriage (MOM) of Singapore has immediately  responded to their Minister Mental recommendation to Singaporeans to go for Assortive Mating in order to maximise on its assets towards the Singapore System.
Its spokesman Mr See Swa Liar has issued the following guidelies:
1. If you are a University Graduate you should look out for another University Graduate to tie the knots so that your children will be smarter than other children and become University Graduates with honours and so they can marry another University Graduate with honours and so their children.....and so on.
2. You should forget the idea of marrying a Non-Graduate as you will not be able to maximise on you assets to built up the Singapore System.
3. If you are not a University Graduate you should refrain from marrying a University Graduate in order not to polute, sorry populate, the country with abnormal, sorry sub-normal, children.
4. A Non-Graduate should marry another Non-Graduate so that their children will be forever condemned to do all the menial jobs for the country. If for any reasons they are not happy we can import sub-normal citizens that can be found in abundance from neighbouring countries.
In response to heated arguments from reporters present Mr Liar reiterated that it will slowly dawn on Singaporean about this Awful Truth and the sooner they accept it the better for the Singapore System.
