Feather
your own nest on this 'Bird Day' and bring big protection and luck
straight to your front door. The Taoists have long believed that
feathers found on the ground are gifts from our aviary friends that
bring a sense of security as well as some slammin' cosmic luck at the
front entry. The custom says
that finding feathers is a sign of good fortune, so be sure to give
gratitude and grace for the gift when you pick them up
. Once
home, affixing the feathers around the perimeter of the front door will
keep you safe from things that go bump in the night.

Actually, birds themselves play a huge role in the Feng Shui philosophy. Red
birds are said to be the harbinger of good news as well as good fortune
and luck, while magpies, peacocks and lovebirds bring romance, passion
and love. Cranes symbolize longevity and when the eagle lands there should be more money in your paycheck. Cardinals
bring auspicious news to all those in the publishing world while an
image or picture of something called The 100 Birds will bring super
success, celebrity, achievement and fame! I
use this symbology freely inside my own home and office environment and
have those hundred birds sitting in the Fame area of my main floor. If
you want to be birds of a feather with me, try all or any of these cures
so you can...straighten up and fly right into the arms of health,

happiness and prosperity!

Hail to thee, blithe spirit!
Bird thou never wert,
That from Heaven, or near it,
Pourest thy full heart
In profuse strains of unpremeditated art.

To
stand at the edge of the sea, to sense the ebb and the flow of the
tides, to feel the breath of a mist moving over a great salt marsh, to
watch the flight of shore birds that have swept up and
down the surf lines of the continents for untold thousands of years, to
see the running of the old eels and the young shad to the sea, is to
have knowledge of things that are as nearly eternal as any earthly life
can be. ~Rachel Carson Under the Sea-Wind.

Gruccione - Merops apiaster

gruccione, the most  colored italian bird. It normally nests on the hills.

Gruccione is an Italian equivalent of 'bee eater'. The masculine gender noun is
pronounced 'grooch-CHYOH-nay'. That's one of a number of common names
for the bird, throughout the Italian peninsula and the islands. But no
matter the local and regional variations, the scientific name always
stays the same, as 'Merops apiaster' .

White Peacock...now that's a bird whose feathers I'd love to find. Ana....

Peacock Totem...Laughter and Majesty..Meanings and Messages: sight and sound, resurrection, watchful, karmic connections. The
peacock is a majestic and mystical totem symbolizing inner wisdom.
Whenever the peacock visits it is an invitation to view higher aspects
of yourself through the eye image displayed on its magnificent display
of feather plumes. The eye is your gateway to higher knowledge. Ask
yourself if you need to widen your perspective and look deeper regarding
a situation.

The
iridescent hues of blues and greens in the feathers have an exotic
look. Are you stuck in drab surroundings? Are you able to reflect light
and deflect dark emotions? The peacock teaches us to stand upright and show others our talents with pride.
