Let there be Peace. Peace, beautiful Peace. Peace within, Peace without.
Peace in this world, Peace for all beings.
At
this time in the Earth's history, we truly live in important and interesting times.
There is great consequence and urgency to our actions. Our decisions
and actions will be remembered for generations to come. What we do today
affects tomorrow. We are pushing the earth to its limits literally,
in population, resources, and it's capacity to sustain human life. At
this time in our evolution, it is being revealed in many ways that we
are all connected. Pioneers and leaders in technology and science are
leading us to an understanding of reality that spiritual traditions
have been at for millennia. All of life is connected, that in fact we
are all one. One people, one planet. Our lesson, we must learn to live
together in peace and understanding, realizing that all of life is sacred
and we are all joined together by our humanness. The Native Americans
have a beautiful philosophy regarding action, when you take action you
should contemplate it's effect on the next seven generations. There
is a deep wisdom here, one that is worth some consideration in our evolving
world.
For
those of us who are fortunate enough to live in an abundant land and have
so many blessings and material comforts, it can easily be forgotten
how much the world is in crisis. We can easily forget behind the business
of our own lives, our televisions and the many material distractions
that we have, that we are in a time of deep crisis, a crisis of living
and more deeply a crisis of spirit. Can we learn to live together, to
respect each other, help each other and create a country, a world where
we live in harmony with and have a deep respect and gratitude for nature
and each other, regardless of differences. Yes we can! Please join your
brothers and sisters in creating peace!
What
can we do?
There are many things that can be done,
the power of one person can move mountains. There is much wisdom in
an old saying "if you want to change the world, change yourself". Even
by reading this page and contemplating peace, turning our minds and
hearts in that direction begins to bring peace into the collective awareness.
By nurturing and creating peace inside ourselves, within our own lives,
we affect all those we come in contact with and every place we visit.
Live your life in peace, speak words of peace and pray for peace, if
it is important to you, pray. It takes only one moment to say a prayer
(say one now), a blessing for yourself, for all beings, for this earth.
Simply with a feeling of reverence and devotion, repeat the words below.
Divine Source,
Let my heart be filled with Peace,
Let me speak only the Truth,
Let my actions be done only with Love.
May all beings be Happy,
May all beings be healthy
And have enough to eat,
May all beings live in Peace,
With each other and on this earth.
Om ~ Amen
There
is a
saying I once heard in India that I really love and find to be quite
profound, "It is easy to be a saint when there is no one around". In
the face of this chaotic, fast paced crazy and wonderful world we live
in, can we be kind, patient, loving and caring? To ourselves and to
all those we meet. The way we view the world is dependent on perception,
shift our perception and we shift the way the world looks. A glass half
empty or a glass half full? A world filled with love or a world full
of fear. We choose, each moment, each day. When you can, be of service.
Help someone, there is always someone who needs our help. The only way
something can flow into you is if it flows out of you. This is the eternal
teaching of Karma, give a little, get a little. As we sow so shall we
reap.
Whenever, wherever you can practice love, compassion
and service. Your own life will bloom even more fully, like the most
beautiful flower. It is easy to be cynical in this day and age, unfortunately
there is a lot to be cynical about, but there is a difference between
common sense and losing faith. To live as a cynic kills the spirit,
it negates our connection to the universe and to life itself, it destroys
the flow of Life force within us. But to see the beauty and wonder in
life in spite of it's hardships, opens the doors of the heart, increases
our life force and helps to create a brighter more peaceful world.
