January 16, 2011 'National Nothing Day'

Sunday, January 16, 2011

Don't try to make anything of 'National Nothing Day' unless,
of course, you have nothing better to do. I can only guess that it was
the same someone with nothing better to do who also called this
'Appreciate A Dragon Day.' If that's true, then you might want to enlist
the energies of one of the most powerful symbols in the entire Feng
Shui pantheon. So let's call on the all mighty and powerful dragon to
breathe some health, happiness and a whole lot of prosperity into your
life. There's no better time than at the top of a brand new year to
bring this uber energy into your environment. In fact, not only is the
mythical dragon the single most important symbol in Feng Shui, but it
also holds that same rank in Chinese folklore. According to that same
lore there are actually nine immensely powerful dragons, each one
holding sway over a particular life aspiration or goal that we can
identify with.

A listing of these dragons is as follows: the earth
dragon and the wind dragon, the sky dragon, the sea dragon, the water
dragon, the fire dragon, the golden dragon, the mountain dragon and the
heavenly dragon. Since the dragon is always associated with the
direction of East, it's highly recommended that you put an image of a
dragon in that same place of your living space. This positioning is
believed to bring an immediate boost to your fortunes and luck.
That
said, never place a dragon image in the bedroom as it will disrupt your
rest. And remember that placing dragon images beside water features such
as fountains or fishbowls will make the effects of that feature more
potent and powerful. I'm not just blowing smoke, using dragon imagery
inside your space is a better rescue remedy than any knight in shining
armor could ever be! Go ahead and take advantage of auspicious dragon
energy -- it's hot!

I'm inclined to favor the Chinese dragon character, not the actual dragon image, and find a place for it on my east wall, which would be in my living room.

Good idea, I thought about that also, since the only wall left without pictures hung on it, is above my frig.
So I asked my son to do the symbol.
Here's to use.....

How does one know which dragon image to choose? What kind of dragon image is in your home, Ana? Where did you place it?

My son was into painting dragons for his art class in High School, and a College art class. Both are in the living room, one is painted yellow/oranges w/oil on North wall, Graphite winged dragon, abstract on South wall. Guess I need him to do another for the EAST wall which would be the kitchen wall.
