Happy Piggy Day ... Feng Shui

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

If you can make a silk purse from the ear of one, and you can put lipstick on one, then there must be something about the pig that promises prosperity along with all the pork. So today's 'Pig Day' is the perfect time to explore exactly about how Feng Shui says Porky can help you bring home the bacon. Eastern cultures and traditions believe that pigs represent having a sufficient food supply and material joy, fertility, safety and prosperity. In ancient China, the pig was considered more man's best friend than even Fido. In those days, owning a mother pig was considered a source of income that could provide a family with more than ample assets. This ancient symbol of the pig has translated in modern times to represent growth in both business and the manpower to support the growth. In Feng Shui, pigs are usually depicted as being both very fat while also holding gold ingots. They are said to be important gifts and purveyors of fortune and luck for business people. A pair of pigs is also believed to be a perfect gift for newlyweds since they bring fertility and money luck to the happy couple. The newlyweds with a pair of porky's blessings will live happily ever after! Put a picture, image or statue of a golden pig in your Wealth area to generate something for the inside of that silk purse or put a pair in your Romance area to see some lipstick on your own collar. Either way, you're sure to be rolling in it before too long. Thhhhhat's all ffffolks!

Pigs get a bad wrap, but I find them adorable.
