Usually when I want a cheese omelet with a side of pancakes I will head for IHOP but being a sucker for cheeseburgers (see the discussion about BurgerFi) and trying to be clever advertising I was following the IHOP is now IHOB and decided to give it a try. Much to my surprise it was good.
First of all though I didn’t get it medium rare as I ordered it was medium and juicy! Also I had “The Monster†which is a double burger with white and yellow cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. I love pickles but not in the burger and I love a thick slice of onion on the burger so first thing I did was take the pickles out having forgotten to tell the server and ask for that slice of onion as the burger came only with 3 tiny bits of chopped onion. It was sloppy, as a burger should be, and good.
Also the price $9.99 comes with a drink and a choice of sides---I got the hash browns cooked on both sides as I like them crisp—giving you an option of as much of the side dish you want.
I did have a couple of problems with the check as I was charged for the drink and I thought to be charged the same price for ice cream as I would have been for a shake was wrong but that wasn’t a big deal and my fault for not asking the price before I ordered.
All together for $9.99 plus tax and tip for full service and a good tasting cheeseburger I would come to IHOB over a few other places I have tried recently but still it is IHOP for that cheese omelet and side of pancakes!
