I've been on vacation for at least a month. Living alone here in Colorado while Mr. Troutbend finishes up his bowling league season in Las Vegas, I haven't even had the cat to take care of. No meals to cook, get up when I feel like it, stay up late watching movies, knit all day, knit far into the night. When I turned on the water in the rental cabin there was a break in one of the pipes, so I am waiting for Mr. Tbend to get here and fix it, so no rentals to worry about.
Oh, I've done the odd little thing like put Weed 'n Feed on the back lawn, and mowed all the grass. I water my vegetables and put a tent around them at night to keep them warm, and I've raked up a load of pine needles and dumped them over the bank to enrich the soil. But that was just what I felt like doing.
Here is last year's Weed 'n Feed effort that I did in the dark to take advantage of a rain storm. It's striped. I'm not very good at it in daylight, either, but this year's application has killed a lot of dandelions.

Well, this is all going to end in a few days because Mr. Troutbend and that cat are coming home. It'll be nice to have them here, but the vacation was fun while it lasted.
