I know you're dying to know how our land survey is going. Not!
Want it or not, here it is. After the boss surveyor came and tromped all over the mountains here locating the section corners and various monuments, his crew came up and 'shot' some points. There is a wooden stake in our front yard marking the boundary between the parcel with our house and the one next door, and a Sharpie cross in the middle of the bridge marking the center of the river.
Result: yes, our legal descriptions are messed up and we need to get new ones and work out a property boundary adjustment with the county planning department then have the lawyer draft some quit claim deeds to correct the previous ones.
He gave us the preliminary plat today and talked to the real estate lawyer about it and they decided the next step is to talk to the county planner and find out what hoops we have to jump through. I'm hoping it's not going to be too bad and not too much in fees. Probably the county people are taking one or two days off a week to save tax money, so we'll see how soon he gets back to me with a time to meet.
Fingers crossed.
