Pole dancer truck to disappear from Strip

By SCOTT WYLAND
LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL
Hauling pole dancers around the Strip in a transparent box turned out to be a short-lived marketing stunt.

The owners of the all-nude clubs Deja Vu Showgirls and Little Darlings agreed today to halt the road shows that grabbed widespread attention and stirred a debate about whether they had gone too far, even in Las Vegas.

Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak, who considered it a traffic hazard, welcomed the news.

"There will be no more stripper-mobiles after right now," Sisolak said. "It's gone. It's done."

He praised the clubs' owners for shutting it down. But he said he still planned to push ahead Tuesday with clamping down on live entertainment on wheels to prevent vendors from using similar tactics in the future.

Larry Beard, Deja Vu's marketing director, said the owners spent about $50,000 leasing the truck to transport the pole dancers.

===========================================

Yes, this is as bad as it gets. I know some of you are sorry you missed it. They put that big transparent box on the back of a flat bed truck and drove it up and down Las Vegas Boulevard like a parade float with the stripper/pole dancer doing her club act to attract potential customers to the strip clubs.

Definitely not something you'd want your children or your sweet grandma to witness, although I'm not sure what Sweet Grandma thinks she's doing on the Las Vegas Strip if she's easily shocked. There are all those teams of illegals thrusting nude women trading cards into mens' hands as they walk along the sidewalk. And then people just throw them on the ground for Granny and the kiddies to look at.

The stripper/pole dancers worked the Stripper Truck for free and said they missed the tips they'd have been receiving if they were working in the club - usually about $800 a night for a 20 year-old, but that probably isn't why it was ended.
