To Market, to Market

Well, once again driving to town today so I'll stop at the grocery store and get some ribs for the holiday. I love ribs, Mr. Troutbend not so much, but he's in Las Vegas for the bowling tournaments. He emailed that he's got jitters about it, which he usually doesn't admit to. I told him to listen to the bowling hypnosis CD I got on eBay for him a few years ago. He probably will do that if he can find it.

It's been cooler so far this summer in Las Vegas, just under 100 degrees. There have been a lot of days when it was hotter in Oklahoma City, and they have humidity to go with it. Well, Mr. Troutbend pulls into town and now it's going to be 108 today.

This morning I used surveyor's tape to mark the trees in the yard in case the sprayers show up. We have pine beetle problems in this area, getting worse, and aphids on the spruces. There is also a spruce bud beetle they spray for. We lost a pine tree last year, and another died over the winter, both in our back yard, and there is a small cluster of dead ones up the side stream that we will have to deal with by cutting them down and burning the wood.

Two nights in a row I've had dreams set in airports, the main theme of which seemed to be frustration with some of the glitches of air travel, but nothing insurmountable.

In one of them I was standing in line with the Nordic Track (yep, those large exercise machines that are like skiing) that my husband insisted I take on this airplane trip. The airline people were figuring out how to get it onto the plane - nobody gave me any grief about it, but I thought the other passengers were probably wondering why I couldn't have gotten along without it for a couple of days.

Here's what one of the online dream dictionaries says about it:

Airport

"To see an airport in your dream, symbolizes birth (arrivals) and death (departures). If the airport is busy, then it signifies the desire for freedom, high ideals, ambition, and hopes. It is an indication that you are approaching a new departure in your life. Some new idea is taking off or is ready to take off. You may be experiencing a new relationship, new career path or new adventure. "

Now, I don't think dreams are predictive, I think they are windows into our subconscious worries. So it doesn't mean someone is going to die, it means I'm worried someone is going to die. Well, a phone call will answer that question - still breathing? Everything okay? Great! and that'll be the end of that.

I have a big list of things to do today, so better get started.

I don't know if it shows up very well, but this is a very large vein of mica in pink granite.
