Love at First Sight

The other day we went to a real furniture store (as opposed to the one that sells used furniture cast off by hotels) to look for a footstool or something for Buddy the Cat to use for jumping up on the breakfast bar. He's getting older and the cardboard box he was using didn't seem stable enough.

We were in the "Liquidation Tent" and I saw a nice sofa made for TV watching that had recliners in both ends, cup holders and a remote compartment in the middle. It was very comfy, but the best thing about it was that the recliner part was electric:

Push a button and the foot rest smoothly extends cradling your feet and legs. Keep pushing and the back silently flattens out, to just the right degree. Gone are the days of shifting your weight and jerking around to get the thing to recline and un-recline. It was just heaven.

I don't think we are going to buy one because they only had the floor samples, and the tags said something was damaged in the mechanism, which we don't want to take a chance on, so it will be a fond memory for me, like ships that passed in the night.
