I just read a household hint: Mice and rats can't burp, so to get rid of them, put out some carbonated beverage in a dish, and they'll drink it and die because they can't burp.
Do you think that makes them explode? Sure hope if they do, it's sort of an internal explosion with no leakage inside the house. I wonder if they hang around the house and drop dead, or do they run outside and die a little later. Probably make to inside the walls and die there. We get some of those every year in the rental cabin next door when it smells like the septic has failed or there must be dirty diapers in the trash.
The tip came from the website: kgb.com. This is a company to which you can send text message questions from your cell phone ($.99) and they text back the answer. The number is 542542 (kgbkgb).
If you go to their website, you can see questions people have sent in and the answers crawling up the screen. It's very entertaining.
Here is one of them: What is the time limit on turkey hunting in Indiana during the day?
(1/2 hour before sunrise until sunset)
I wonder if ground squirrels can burp.
