Hot Spiced Cider Recipe - Really Easy

Yesterday I mentioned how I bought some Mike's Hard Spiced Apple beverage and didn't like it cold. Today I noticed on the carton that it can be heated up, so I just now heated up a bottle of it, although hot beer seems weird.

Now this is more like it, and it actually tastes like good, hot spiced apple cider with a tummy warming effect, just perfect this snowy day.

Here are a couple of recipes from their website:

Caramel Apple Toddy
Add 1 Tb. of caramel to a cup of hot mike’s hard spiced apple™. Add whipped cream and a dollop of apple butter and serve.

Spiked Sparkling Cider
Mix one part orange juice, one part ginger ale, and two parts chilled mike’s hard spiced apple™. Add a dash of grenadine and serve.

What surprises me is how many ingredients are in each recipe. It's not enough to just melt a caramel in there or fizz it up with some gingerale. Nope, gotta have some apple butter and whipped cream or orange juice and grenadine, too. I liked it just heated with a sprinkle of cinnamon, so won't try their recipes unless I happen to have the ingredients in the house some day.
