He's eating a leafy branch. Next, he slipped underwater and moved a little bit upstream to the bank where he groomed himself for a few minutes. He probably weighs about 60 pounds.

Next, he went up further on the bank and nipped off a branch that he carried across the river.

He settled under a rock to eat the leaves and bark off it.

He ignored us while he was eating, but when he was done, all of sudden seemed to notice us and dove underwater. We could see his body floating just under the surface with the current. They can hold their breath under water for 15 minutes so that was enough time to disappear downstream without ever coming up for air.

This is him underwater, that lighter part, gliding downstream.

We get really angry when Bucky starts cutting down the wrong trees. The ones we want to keep are wrapped with chicken wire and it works most of the time, but here is a tree Bucky cut down last fall.

It had chicken wire, but he was able to get inside it. It's on a part of the river we don't go to very often and over the next several days Bucky cleaned off the branches and bark.

Yes, that's the same tree.
