It's a lovely sunny day, no rain in the forecast, not windy, and I decided to plant my vegetable starts outside. I have some crystals that turn into a gel when water is added. They get mixed into the soil and are supposed to retain moisture. We'll see.

Here is what I aspire to. Note the very large ant.

Realistically, not going to happen up here, but if we're lucky the oriental poppies and columbines will have a good year. So far they aren't showing any buds, but it's still early at this altitude.
